Perhaps it'll bring up memories of compiling kernels on a 486... ;-) Yes as soon as I had a 13.2 install image that booted and could install kernels and initrds I started this thread. Thanks for the help! Btw osc doesn't flush stdout if output isn't to a terminal, not even after displaying a prompt and waiting for input when stdin is still a terminal. I like to log the output with osc | tee -a. Using script is unsatisfactory. If there's a trick to persuade it to behave as with a terminal I'd love to hear.
