Both U-Boot and kernel dts don't distinguish such two CB2 versions. In the kernel .dts I spotted an mmc0 node FWIW.
Thanks! If there is only one mmcX then it'll be the microSD card slot. Some instructions on cubieborad.org say that the tSD/EMMC flash is connected as an SD card too, and there was a suggestion somewhere else not to confuse mmc0 and mmc1. So it's probably effectively a soldered-on SD card. I don't know how that affects the boot process. Hopefully not... Both version are still sold on Aliexpress, but could be knock-offs, or older stock. If anyone has tried I'd still like to hear. This board is at a low price for an ARM board with SATA interface and some semi-decent I/O performance (unlike RPi), and with independent software support. The current boards are too expensive and have no openSUSE.
