I've got a https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:NanoPi_Neo2 , which works well with USB2 OTG on mainline kernel. I haven't spent much time getting openSUSE properly built/supported for it though.
Could we power the board from header pins, and use USB OTG to connect to a host? Some boards have 5V USB directly connected to 5V from header pins, which would break my use case where I need to keep the board up, and connect to a host when desired.
I've only powered it from the USB host. I think you'll need to check the schematics if you want to power it from UART, etc. alongside USB OTG: http://wiki.friendlyarm.com/wiki/images/d/db/Schematic_NanoPi_NEO2-V1.1-1711...
