Hi, I am running a suse 9.3 box, which has all the updates. The system stays on for days, and i use a lot of peer-to-peer software. I noticed that fam is using all of my cpu (cpu sensor is always at 100 %), and sometimes the rest of the system is not responding fast ( i mean when i try to open konqueror, sometimes it takes more than 1 minute). All these dissappear when i kill the fam daemon. 1)Is fam behavior normal? 2)Is any problem running the system without the fam daemon?
