RE: [suse-amd64] apt-get slow as molasses
CF, There have been a few threads on going in the open_suse mailing lists about the 10.0 apt sources. I've got those e-mails at home, so I'd recommend searching the archives for them. -Alain. -----Original Message----- From: Constantine 'Gus' Fantanas [mailto:fantanas@innocent.com] Sent: Friday, October 14, 2005 11:31 AM To: suse-amd64@suse.com Subject: [suse-amd64] apt-get slow as molasses Has anybody tried apt-get for 9.3 recently? It seems to me that it has slowed down the past couple of months. The web site for apt-get for SuSE does not even mention the 64-bit 9.3, let alone 10.0. Here is my /etc/apt/sources.list file: # Start rpm ftp://mirrors.mathematik.uni-bielefeld.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/ SuSE/9.3-x86_64 update security rpmkeys rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/9.3-x86_64 kernel-of-the-day suse-projects rpmkeys base update-drpm update-prpm update samba3 suse-people kde misc packman x-ati mozilla suser-scorot suser-jmorris security-prpm security rpm-src ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/9.3-x86_64 kernel-of-the-day suse-projects rpmkeys base update-drpm update-prpm update samba3 suse-people kde misc packman x-ati mozilla suser-scorot suser-jmorris security-prpm security # End Any suggestions for faster downloads? Also, the repositories I have declared list an update for arts, but --after a long wait-- I get an error that the file cannot be retrieved from the repositories.
