Re: [suse-amd64] HPOJ Scanner does not work
Hi, I did all that but it does not work reliable. If I execute scanimage -L direct after reboot I get scanning to work. But then I can not print. After a reboot I can print but not scan. Doing a ptal-init setup again recognizes the printer but scanimage -L does not work, it seems to hang!? (it does not finisch and I have to stop it with ctrl-c) Any further suggestions? BTW, I used this all-in-one device on SuSe 9.0 32bit without problems. Raimund Am Dienstag, 1. März 2005 20:17 schrieb Joe Morris (NTM):

I have a HP PSC950 all-in-one device attached to my clean SuSe 9.2 installation. Setup of the printer part was easy, but the scanner is not recognized. If I do a scanimage -L as root I get the following message:
Did you run ptal-init setup as root first?
No scanners were identified.
After running the command above, uncomment hpoj in /etc/sane/dll.conf, and it should work. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871

Hi - not a real solution, but a workaround: Try to switch off the printer after scanning or printing and it can be used in the other mode. This is not really nice, but it worked for me. I didn't further look into it, maybe the new driver as suggested in a previous email in this thread works...
