SUSE now offers SUSE LINUX 9.0 AMD64 free of charge for direct download from the SUSE FTP server. The FTP version is the same as the retail version -- minus a few program packages excluded due to licensing restrictions. Installation support also is not included.

The SUSE LINUX 9.0 AMD64 FTP version is suitable for installation via ftp, nfs, or hard disk. It is not possible to generate installation CDs from a complete download. A mirror of the complete 9.0 FTP directory on your local network can also be used to install systems via NFS.
