RE: [suse-amd64] Dual AMD 64
Hi Frank,
I am about to give this a try. Two questions if you don't mind.
1) where did you get the "2.6.0-test11" kernel from & I have used a plain 2.6.0-test11 kernel from ftp.kernel.org to be sure that

I've looked at the differences of the source code for siimage.c from kernel.org and suse. In suse, there is additional code for dealing with Seagate drives. It looks like someone found problems. It just so happens I have Seagates, and I remember you have someother brand. Looks like I drew the short straw twice. The weird thing is that when grub stage 2 starts, at that point, menu.lst has been read from /boot/grub, and once I select my 2.6 kernel, there is plenty of disk activity as though a boot is in progress, its just the screen goes blank. Tried pinging the computer from another box, but it is obvious the computer has not booted to a login stage. Anyway, time to have a XMAS beer, and attack this a bit later on. For the moment, I have a very lovely looking $8000 bookend :-( Happy XMAS Alan
Now 2.6.0 is released, but I don't know about the SiI3114 patch. I have seen it in Andrew Mortons -mm tree, so may be in 2.6.1.
2) are you running SMP? Yes, it works so far - but no intensiv tests yet. I have only checked that all my hardware in ok. I will start the work with that system after Christmas holiday.
