RE: [suse-amd64] SCSI with PCI card vs IDE on 9.2 way off topiic
This is way off topic but: Go to http://www.cenatek.com/product_ramdisk.cfm Download and install. This is a commerical product with 30 free tries but I will buy it when my 30 tries run out I have 4gb of ram so your performance msy be worse if you have less ram and better if you have more? ( I think 32 bir XP stops at 4gb). Hi-
I was booted in windows XP so I tried the RAM disk solution suggested by Peter and got a factor of 2 improvement running cygwin and the Cenatek XP ram disk. This is more than I would have expected going to SCSI so in this case it appears RAM disk is the way to go.
Hello Bob, I am not an XP expert. Is it easy to create a RAMdisk under XP ? Do you have a short description, how to do it ? Do I need extra drivers for this? Best regards Wigbert
