New kernels uploaded...
I've uploaded both 2.4.19 and 2.4.21 kernels to ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/x86-64/supplementary/Kernel/ They should be their in an hour or so. The 2.4.19 one is a kernel with the latest security fixes and enhancements while the 2.4.21 is newer but not that well tested. I tried the 2.4.21 kernel on a dual Opteron 244 machine but it didn't boot correctly. A segfault error is seen at the boot time: Loading kernel/fs/reiserfs/reiserfs.o insmod[15]: segfault at 0000000000000 rip 000000000400019d5 rsp 0000007fbffffca8 error 6 Segmentation fault Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:03. I also tried 2.60-test3 kernel rpm. This time is a different error. It's complaining about reiserfs.ko is an invalid module format at the boot time. Can you please help with error(s)? We'll investigate this later today, it did work for us :-(

I corrected the kernel 2.4.21 segfault error by rebuilding the rpm. The reiserfs.o must not be built/installed properly the first time. The invalid format error in 2.6 is still a mystery. Thanks a lot, Dan --- Andreas Jaeger <aj@suse.de> wrote:
