The SuSE site says that the professional version will take advantage of a 64 bit chip but makes no mention of if the personal edition does as well?

Personal doesn't include 64bit. Also 9.2 has only Professional, no Personal anymore.

I don't know if they have English versions though. The software is always the same, just the printed books are different.
