64bit Suse 9.2 Personal (download version)
Hi, I am currently running the 64bit version of 9.1 Professional, and wanted to try out the new version before committing to buying a professional version, or even if I needed the professional version. I downloaded the DVD, and the hash checked OK. The system boots off the DVD, but will not detect an installed HDD. The HDD is a Serial ATA running in a Shuttle SN95G5. I had zero problems installing 9.1 onto the HDD, nor Windows XP. So I am curious as to why it is not detecting the HDD now. A quick look does have the SATA controller detected. Help, this has me puzzled. Lance
You are not alone. This appears to be a bug in SuSE 9.2, with Nvidia based sata controllers. If you can change your bios settings to put the sata into legacy mode, it may work. There are a couple of entries in this mailing list, and http://slforums.typo3-factory.net/index.php?showtopic=9406 is from the suse support forums. R.
