Suse-9.2 and VMWare4.5.2 ?

Hello again, will the current 32bit VMWare 4.5.2 run on Suse-Linux-9.2 ? Also on the 64bit version of Suse-Linux-9.2 ? Is an 64bit-VMWare planed for the near future ? Or is another PC-Emulator running as 64bit ? Best regards Wigbert

I am no expert in Linux 64-Bit. But i think 32-Bit Programs can run in 64-Bit OS.

Yes, but i think not soon. In 1 year timeframe.
Or is another PC-Emulator running as 64bit ?
Qemu should easily be compiled for 64-Bit.

Yes, but only build 8848 and up. However, updating the kernel from the original build kills it. I am using 64-bit vmware 4.5.2-8848 under Suse 9.1 with 64-bit kernel 2.6.5-7.111-smp. The 64-bit vmware is still 'experimental' but so far I haven't experienced any serious errors. The 'shared folder' functionality does not work (fails to build) but the win98 guest OS does not support it anyway, so I haven't investigated this in detail. The newsgroups at news://news.vmware.com/ is a good source for help with Vmware.
