What does YaST tell you about the monitor? Does it detect your monitor correctly? If not, did you try using VESA modes or LCD types?
Help! Please.
Video card is an ATI AIW x600.

The driver is most likely sending a signal that is out of range for your monitor
From the Viewsonic website..
http://www.viewsonic.com/support/desktopdisplays/lcddisplays/e2series/ve910b...
looks like the specs for that monitor are 1280x1024 - Horizontal 30-82kHz
- Vertical 50-85Hz
In the Monitor section of your xorg.conf file limit the monitor range to
the manufacturers specs....
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Viewsonic"
ModelName "VE901b"
HorizSync 30-82
VertRefresh 50-85
EndSection
If that doesn't work, send your /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/xorg.conf
file, and /var/log/X*.log...
