Hi, I have a HP PSC950 all-in-one device attached to my clean SuSe 9.2 installation. Setup of the printer part was easy, but the scanner is not recognized. If I do a scanimage -L as root I get the following message: No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different, check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages). If I look in /var/log/messages I find the follwing entries: Mar 1 19:12:07 neo scanimage: resmgr: server response code 501 Mar 1 19:12:07 neo scanimage: resmgr: server response code 502 Mar 1 19:12:07 neo last message repeated 8 times Mar 1 19:12:07 neo scanimage: resmgr: server response code 200 Does anyone know whats wrong? I have installed the following packages: hp-officeJet-0.91-123.2 sane-1.0.14-5 xsane-0.95-2 Thanx Raimund

i think the hpoj driver is already outdated, there's i new project called HPLIP http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/ with excellent support for the HP PSC and OfficeJet printers. best regards, Franz ___________________________________________________________ Gesendet von Yahoo! Did you run ptal-init setup as root first?
No scanners were identified. After running the command above, uncomment hpoj in /etc/sane/dll.conf, and it should work. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871
