I have recently acquired an IBM Thinkpad model Z60T, and am trying to use it in dual boot mode (Window XP & SuSE 10). The Window XP was installed by the maker of the Thinkpad (Lenovo). I then created a new partition using the commonly used "Partition Magic" program for the Window operating system. The creation of a new partition was successful, in the sense that the existing Winow XP is intact and I can use that operating system. However, there is a serious problem when I try to install SuSE10 in the other new and still empty partition. The installation process ends up with a message: Cannot install the Boot Loader I am totally inexpirienced in these matters, and my own guess (which could be wrong) is that the manufacturer may have locked the master boot record (as a security measure). But I do not now how to unlock or even how to find out whether the mbr is locked or not. Please help. Your help will be greatly appreciated. -- Best regards. Sheo (Sheo S.
