Activating Wacom tablet support kills X server in SuSE 9.1
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all: Is anyone successfully using a Wacom tablet with SuSE 9.1? My machine has both 9.0 and 9.1 installed. My wacom tablet works fine with 9.0. Using the same tablet (and even the same XF86Config file) with 9.1 causes the X server to crash. There is no core or particularly useful output. Here are links to some files of possible interest: XF86Config http://mucus.com/suse/XF86Config Log file XFree86.0.log-FAIL Note that /dev/wacom is a symlink to /dev/ttyS0. Commenting out the Wacom entry in ServerLayout (line 193) makes things work again. If anyone *is* using a wacom tablet, what model are you using and is it serial or USB? Mine is a serial ArtPad II. Hi, Darrel, I do have a serial Wacom tablet (Graphire) working under SuSE9.1 on an Athlon XP machine at home. It works fine also with pen. The only problem I had was that the second and third mouse buttons are swapped and I couldn't fix that, so I'm getting used to it. Carlos On Wednesday 14 July 2004 22:53, Darrell Shively wrote:

AthlonXP? That would be a 32bit system, right? Hmmm...

Oh, that I can help you with. First, get a copy of Frederic Lepied's program "xinput". (I got my copy from ftp://ftp.x.org/contrib/utilities.) Then do this: $ xinput set-button-map WacomStylus0 1 3 2 4 Replace WacomStylus0 with the names you used in your /etc/X11/XF86Config file for the stylus. There's a man page with more details.
