SUSE 9.3 (x86_64) installation on Fujitsu Siemens CELSIUS V810
Hi there, today I encountered a kernel panic during installation of SUSE 9.3 on our V810 dual opteron workstation. This bug occured only when more than 4 GB of RAM were installed. I found a workaround that does it on the latest BIOS (R1.07.1692): The problem can be solved by changing BIOS settings under "Advanced/Chipset". The setting for "Node Memory Interleave" has to change from the default "Disabled" to "Auto" which will also cause the setting "ACPI SRAT table" to switch from "enabled to disabled". After this the system boots fine also with more than 4 GB RAM. Best regards Rainer König -- Dipl.-Inf.
