Problem with DMA and Serial-ATA with SuSE 9.1
Hi folks! I have installed SuSE 9.1 on my AMD64 (AMD64 3200+ on Asus K8V SE Deluxe). I'm using a Samsung SATA-HDD on VIA VT8237, the Promise controller is disabled. When I booting my system, I got a message, that DMA is disabled and filesystem checking can take a long time. DMA is enabled, but only in higher runlevels and not by booting with initrd. How can I enable the DMA mode by via_sata module? cu ... Dirk

via_sata always uses DMA. Just ignore the bogus message. -Andi
