Re: [suse-amd64] Application issues : resolution
I sent this information to MSI and haven't heard anything back from them. I
will wait and see if their next bios upgrade fixes the problem for me.
But i did find a message on the mandrake boards that had the source code for
a kernel module that fixed the problem as well. I compiled that and things
have been steady for the past day. I have been able to use OpenOffice
without the machine locking up, and everything else appears to be stable as
well.
I don't know why the new bios worked for some people and not me, but the
kernel module is fine for now. Maybe in the future i'll upgrade my or cpus
and that will alleviate my problems.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

I did this and they said that they needed more information on errata #94. Can you give me more information? Who issued it, where can i find information about it, etc. I haven't found anything on the we in regards to this.
Issued by AMD, found on www.amd.com, regarding high-order address bits when switching to/from SMM.
No, that's a different one. See http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/2575... That's the revision update (= bug list) for current Opteron and A64 CPUs. Issue #94 in this list is what I'm refering to.
