SuSE 9.2: Can't see Plextor 712 SATA DVD
Hi everybody, With SuSE 9.1 and the SuSE supplied kernel, I was able to use my Plextor 712 SATA DVD burner - no problems. However, that software would frequently lockup on me for no apparent reason. I've upgraded quite recently to SuSE 9.2, kernel version 2.6.8-24.11-smp, and the lockup problem has ceased, however, I can no longer access my DVD burner. When the kernel boots and identifies the devices, the DVD burner is not identified as it was with SuSE 9.1. All other system devices work flawlessly. I am at a loss as to how I should proceed to debug this problem. Any advice would be most appreciated. I'm supplying some information that I think should be useful for debugging this problem.
