RE: [suse-amd64] Trying to install the nvidia driver
I've been reading some of these nvidia threads, and I wonder if I've just gotten lucky up to now. I have a Nvidia 5700LE, and so far have only done the YAST update. My graphics intensive games are running fine (e.g. Racer), and no problems with the "real work" apps either. Is there a particular application in which the weakness of this driver might show up? <mc>

There is a known, AFAIK still unresolved problem with the Nvidia drivers 1.0-5332 and 1.0-5336 (and earlier, I think) and the 2.6.X kernels. The symptom is the log message: Badness in pci_find_subsys at drivers/pci/search.c:167 and it is usually associated with X freezing.
