[opensuse-amd64] 32bit qt libraries vs. 64bit qt libraries for Skype?
Hi, I've got a 64bit 10.2 system here and I'd like to run Skype on it. From what I have learned, I somehow need to install the 32bit versions of the qt libraries, as Skype comes as 32bit only. Currently I have the 64bit QT4 libraries installed. So my questions would be: 1. How to trick Yast or Smart or anything else into installing the 32bit qt libraries next to the existing 64bit ones? When I just try installing them using Smart, it gives me all kinds of conflict messages 2. Will I need to do anything special to make Skype "see" the 32bit versions of the libraries? Thanks for any hints, Jörg --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-amd64+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-amd64+help@opensuse.org

There's a qt3-32bit package - just install it. There might be more libraries needed - and we should have -32bit packages for these.
2. Will I need to do anything special to make Skype "see" the 32bit versions of the libraries?

Isn't there a qt4-32bit package as well? If not, please check the build service. Search for qt4, you should find libqt4*. One of them being libqt4-dbus-1-32bit.rpm . Ciao, Michael. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-amd64+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-amd64+help@opensuse.org

Search for qt4, you should find libqt4*. One of them being libqt4-dbus-1-32bit.rpm .
Do you know of any repository that carries this package? I tried to search Guru, Packman and Suse, but didn't find it.

This seem to be the normal packages, not the xx-32bit ones. However, some friendly soul pointed me to the factory distribution (e.g. http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source...) where I found some of the required packages. Alas, there is still one missing: libsigc++2 seems to exist only as the normal x86_64 package, I couldn't find the xx-32bit version anywhere. Out of curiosity, how are those xx-32bit versions built? Unfortunately, the download page at Skype doesn't give me the option to download anything older than skype-1.4.0.94. Do you know where older versions can be obtained? Constantine 'Gus' Fantanas schrieb:

Out of curiosity, how are those xx-32bit versions built? Would that be some command line option for "make", or something like that?
