SuSE 9.1 Issue's And Praise

Hello everyone, Well, just got 9.1 and installed it. Everything works awesome except two things. Need to get a real copy of Xine working so I can actually play dvd's, and I am having an issue with the hp-officejet drivers. I am going to try disabling the usblp module in the /etc/hotplug/blacklist and see what happens here. Does anyone know if this works? The scanning works fantastic! but when I tried to use YAST to set up a printer with the URI: setup option it kept telling me that I could not test the printing because I was using a different print Q? I used the ptal-cups to see what the device name should be and I entered ptal:/mlc:usb:HP2175 as the URI. Is that a correct URI? Cups is installed and is the default print Q. YAST keeps seeing the printer on /usb/lp0 which is why i'm going to try and disable usblp. Funny thing is: It will print the test pages if you do a standard setup with the detected /usb/lp0, but will subsequently not print through anything. This is not the way the hp-officejet documentation say's to do it anyhow, and I cannot get into the cups web administration interface after I click on add printer, it prompts for a username and password but will not accept anything as valid. This should be root for the cups web administration interface? So that is why I was trying the URI setup in YAST. Any help anyone could provide would be much appreciated as I simply need these two things and my system will be quite arguably the best Linux I have ever seen or used. Thanks in advance, Side question: Does the amd_64 kernel 2.6.X support the Ruby kernel modules from the Linux console project already, or do you have to patch and recompile to get this? Also would I have to get a different version of Xfree to support that?, Again thanks in advance. -- Chad Whiting I.T. Administrator Katecho, Inc cwhiting@katecho.net

I'm not aware of such inclusion.
Also would I have to get a different version of Xfree to support that?, Again thanks in advance.
