Hello David, My own AMD64 is a Desktop and does not use power management. However, on two IBM Thinkpads (Pentium-M with ATI) where I installed 10.1 power management works like a charm. I'm running a pavilion zv5000 with 9.3 and I see no problems with power management. (Couldn't go to 10.0 due to a Siera wireless pcmcia card which I couldn't get to work with 10.0. Not SuSE's fault, not at all, but the Siera wireless pcmcia cards are using a weird way to access them) I did not mention that my laptop is an AMD 64.

I would like to hear what you see as not working in PM. I don't remember from my test installs power management as not working with the pavilion zv5000.

Suspend to ram, Suspend to disk and standby. All the research I have done points the finger at the NVIDIA drivers being used in 10. I have used 10 in a Thinkpad and PM seems to work fine. Some folks say that their laptop will not resume. I cannot even get mine to go into any of the modes. The screen goes black and just shows Stopping Devices: and freezes. I never get a chance to resume. Others on this forum and other forums have told me they get into a mode but can't get things to come back up. Processor throttling seems to work on mine.

Then of course I like to see if everything works fine after you installed, because I'm getting ready to upgrade my pavilion zv5000 in about a week or so (we replaced theSiera wireless pcmcia card with Huawei cards, their cdma pcmcia card works fine with linux)

I recommend saving your data and do a fresh install though.
