I hope this isn't to much of a repeat question. I couldn't find any previous posts.... I have SuSE 9.1 for amd-64. I have all the updates installed. I downloaded libxine1-1_rc4a-0.pm.0.i686.rpm from packman site. I had to do a rpm -Uvh --force install Now I get error while loading shared libraries: libxine.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory If I try to uninstall (rpm -e libxine1-1_rc4a-0.pm.0.i686.rpm) it tells me it is not installed. I see the libs in /usr/lib/ and it is looking in /usr/lib64. Is there an rpm for lib64? Is there a "howto" or good "howto" I am more than willing to RTFM if someone could throw it at me. Thanks in advance B-)

You're installing 32bit libraries, on a 64bit system ... given, that ALL libraries that xine needs, and xine itself is also 32bit. This will work, otherwise it won't as some part will be looking for a 64bit library, while you've only installed 32bit. So, try to compile it ... if you encounter difficulties with compiling libxine1, try compiling rc3c instead of rc4a.
