I'm finally getting started on the build of my AMD 64 Systems. I'm having trouble getting a sound card recognized, I've installed an Audigy LS card, I believe it has the EMU10K1 chip set. It is not being recognized by Yast audio setup or when loading using modprobe. Is there somewhere under proc where is can see of the board is even being recognized by the system? If have another question regarding DVD playback, what is the quickest way to get xine to play encypted DVDs? What libraries? Thank you, Rick Shapiro AMD 64 3200 Biostar K8NHA Pro 1 GIG 120 SATA NVidia 5600 FX 256
You might try moving the sound card to another slot in case there is some pci slot-related irq conflict. I've seen this before on non-amd64 class systems when a card was in the slot next to the AGP card. I don't remember the details of the board, etc., but it doesn't cost anything to try... lspci | grep -i creative There should be a entry like: 02:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 07) It works just fine here with the emu10k1 driver. -Andi

This is what is being returned, is there anything else I should be looking at? 01:09.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs: Unknown device 0007 01:09.1 Input device controller: Creative Labs: Unknown device 7005 Rick
