Favo(u)rite motherboads
Hello We're moving from Solaris to Linux for our "embedded" platforms. We're evaluating Asus A8V, Asus K8V, Tyan Tomcat K8E. We are also thinking about GigaByte and Shuttle. Can anyone suggest other relatively trouble-free motherboards that should be considered as well? We only need two PCI slots, two serial ports, USB, SATA and at least one (preferably two) Gb ethernets. Built-in XGA would be desirable too. TIA&Cheers

Asus is allways a good choice. If you prefer socket 939 I would recommend Asus A8V DL with VIA chipset, while Asus A8N has a nForce4 chipset, but there are rumors about kernel crashes with this chipset, which I cannot proof. -- Dieter Klünter | Systemberatung http://www.dkluenter.de GPG Key ID:01443B53
