vmware problems with suse 9.2 32 bit guest with 9.2 64 bit host
I upgraded a 9.1 32bit linux to 9.2 32bit with a 64 bit host. The 9.1 was installed with an earlier vmware and linux. The host is VMware-workstation-4.5.2-8848 built using vmware-any-any-update84 After the update when the guest booted it went into a loop in a fullscreen mode continually rebooting until I shut off power. I am attaching the contents of /var/log/messages I will try a new install of 9.2 not an upgrade and see what happens Don Leslie Nov 28 15:01:14 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmnet: open called by PID 26121 (vmware-vmx) Nov 28 15:01:14 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmnet: port on hub 8 successfully opened Nov 28 15:01:14 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmmon: host clock rate change request 0 -> 19 Nov 28 15:01:20 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmmon: host clock rate change request 19 -> 0 Nov 28 15:01:20 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: vmmon: Had to deallocate locked 983 pages from vm driver 0000010003ff1c00 Nov 28 15:01:20 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: vmmon: Had to deallocate AWE 1208 pages from vm driver 0000010003ff1c00 Nov 28 15:01:32 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmnet: open called by PID 26130 (vmware-vmx) Nov 28 15:01:32 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmnet: port on hub 8 successfully opened Nov 28 15:01:32 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmmon: host clock rate change request 0 -> 19 Nov 28 15:01:40 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: /dev/vmmon: host clock rate change request 19 -> 1001 Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: Badness in out_of_memory at mm/oom_kill.c:252 Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: Call Trace:<ffffffff80155de6>{out_of_memory+54} <ffffffff8015e9b0>{try_to_free_pages+448} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff80157d62>{__alloc_pages+626} <ffffffff80157f11>{__get_free_pages+33} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa07f6c5d>{:vmmon:HostIF_AllocPage+13} <ffffffffa07f8bdb>{:vmmon:MemTrack_Add+75} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa07f72b3>{:vmmon:HostIF_LockPage+291} <ffffffffa07fcb29>{:vmmon:Vmx86_LockPage+73} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa07f3bd8>{:vmmon:__LinuxDriver_Ioctl+1432} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa0009ee6>{:reiserfs:reiserfs_get_block+182} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff80152f6e>{find_get_page+14} <ffffffff8017177c>{__find_get_block_slow+220} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff80171aa9>{__find_get_block+393} <ffffffff80171aa9>{__find_get_block+393} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff801723d9>{wake_up_buffer+9} <ffffffff80172488>{ll_rw_block+120} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff801723d9>{wake_up_buffer+9} <ffffffff80172488>{ll_rw_block+120} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa001b7a9>{:reiserfs:search_by_key+329} <ffffffff801530e9>{wake_up_page+9} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff8019000e>{do_mpage_readpage+926} <ffffffffa0009e30>{:reiserfs:reiserfs_get_block+0} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa00088b1>{:reiserfs:inode2sd+257} <ffffffffa001b5c8>{:reiserfs:pathrelse+40} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa00088b1>{:reiserfs:inode2sd+257} <ffffffffa001b5c8>{:reiserfs:pathrelse+40} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff80133820>{autoremove_wake_function+0} <ffffffff80133820>{autoremove_wake_function+0} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa00247ef>{:reiserfs:do_journal_end+3055} <ffffffffa0012f49>{:reiserfs:reiserfs_dirty_inode+105} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff80130c8b>{recalc_task_prio+635} <ffffffff8015701c>{__rmqueue+220} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa07f46c5>{:vmmon:LinuxDriver_IoctlV452+341} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff8016b0ac>{shmem_swp_entry+220} <ffffffff8015335b>{add_to_page_cache+59} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffffa07f5276>{:vmmon:LinuxDriver_Ioctl+1462} <ffffffff8015ff50>{do_no_page+960} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff80161272>{handle_mm_fault+322} <ffffffff80187f0e>{inode_update_time+206} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff80120588>{do_page_fault+504} <ffffffff8013eac0>{group_send_sig_info+32} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff8013eb53>{kill_proc_info+51} <ffffffff80130c8b>{recalc_task_prio+635} Nov 28 15:03:44 x1-6-00-0f-b0-03-13-af kernel: <ffffffff8013eecc>{sys_kill+332} <ffffffffa07f5349>{:vmmon:LinuxDriver_Ioctl32_Handler+57}
Has anyone had experiences with Openpkg on suse-amd64? Negative experiences? Positive experiences? Same experiences as on any other platform?
