hello *, just a question for my better understanding: On a Celsius V830: -SLES9 identfies SATA disks ( generic SATA ) as /dev/hdi /dev/hdk -Suse10 identifies the disks as /dev/sda / /dev/sdb can somenone give me a hint, why this different behavior ? Summary from a recent Posting re Celsius V830: -important is in any case to install the most recent BIOS -at the moment i do a test install of SuSE 10, this should work with those machines -SLES 9 / SLES9 SP1 in any tested variant, also with new BIOS for me resulted in error messages: hdi lost interrupt / complete slowdown .. thanks to all people who responded to my questions Micha
Hello * i can now provide some info re Celsius V 830 / Install The important fact is to use sata_nv. This is provided either by OpenSuSE 10 or by RH ES with a very actual SP. For SLES 9 SP1 i simply do not yet know if there is a possibility to get sata_nv installed / used Second it helps to *not* use NOACPI ( thx to Farkas for mentioning this ) For OpenSuSE an immediate Online Upgrade during Install is recommendable best wishes Micha
