Thank you for the answers. I do remember of a problem with hotplug under SuSE 9.1 on 32 bit. I run 2 SuSE 9.1 machines at work, both 32 bits, and i read everyday (not exactly, in fact !!) the suse-e-linux mailing list. I think the broken hotplug package has been fixed months ago. Anyway, on both 32 bits machines, it works like a charm. Do you think that SuSE did not patch the hotplug package for x86-64 by now ?
