Hi, I have strange problem with my SUSE 9.2 on AMD 64. Example: apt. #rpm -qf /usr/lib64/librpm-4.1.so rpm-4.1.1-191 Ok, there is it, but: #rpm -ivh apt-0.5.15cnc6-rb.suse092.6.i586.rpm warning: apt-0.5.15cnc6-rb.suse092.6.i586.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 8c9b4b0d error: Failed dependencies: libapt-pkg-libc6.3-5.so.0 is needed by apt-0.5.15cnc6-rb.suse092.6 librpm-4.1.so is needed by apt-0.5.15cnc6-rb.suse092.6 librpmdb-4.1.so is needed by apt-0.5.15cnc6-rb.suse092.6 librpmio-4.1.so is needed by apt-0.5.15cnc6-rb.suse092.6 EHHHH ????? That's a 64 bit version here...

Ok, there is it, but:
Here you are trying to install a 32 bit version of a program that wants the 32 bit version of the lib above.....

You need to install the x86_64 version. The i586 version will not link to the 64 bit version of the libraries you are trying. Get the x86_64 version from http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-jmorris/suse92/
Why rpm not find it. If I try with --nodeps, the installation (via rpm) complete but
You shouldn't install with nodeps unless you understand what is happening. The deps were i586 versions of libraries you only have 64 bit of. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871
