Schedule for VT8237 S-ATA Module?
Hi everyone! I am already running a Athlon64 System (right now with 32-Bit XPPro :-( ). I have bought a MSI K8T, which has the VT8237 Controller. From what I can see now it was a bad idea to switch to a S-ATA harddisk, as i am not able to install a 64Bit SuSE (tried this with 8.2Beta9) with my hardware... I do not have any other harddisks (sold 'em), so I was wondering when a working module with support for S-ATA will be out... I do think about buying the 9.0 AMD64 pack, but as long as there is no possibilty to install it onto my machine, that would be kind of a bit silly ;) (reminds me of the time when I started with Linux, had to wait for S.u.S.E 4.4 to get support for my Matrox Millenium :-) ) Hope to hear some good news soon TIA Andy

I *may* work with 9.0, but we cannot guarantee it right now. -Andi

Hello! I'm writing this message using K8T with SATA drive connected to it :-) But I connected drive to built-in Promise controller. And I run Mandrake 9.2RC1. Mandrake contains module for VIA SATA, but it doesn't work. May be Suse 9 has driver for Promise SATA?

Unfortunately that's not an option for me at this time, as i have problems when connecting my harddisk to the Promise Controller (at least with WinXP, I already have updated the BIOS to V1.10). Well, if no one has an idea when it'll be out, I have to pray that it will happen soon... Thanks to all Andy

Very strange... btw, where did you download bios 1.10? I can't find it on MSI site
