RE: [suse-amd64] VMware shared folders
I'm running SuSE 9.1 64-bit and was having problems using the shared folder as anything other than a place to copy things to and/from. I attempted an Oracle 9iAS R2 install from the shared folder and it would hang. I could however copy the Oracle 9iAS distro into the VMWare drive. I know that doesn't explain anything but its the only way I've been able to use the shared folder in a consistent manner. -----Original Message----- From: Leonard mckinley [mailto:spam_schild@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, December 13, 2004 9:09 AM To: suse-amd64@suse.com Subject: [suse-amd64] VMware shared folders Has anyone gotten shared folders to work with a 64-bit host? vmtools installed fine, but if you try to read a host file (e.g. via cp or cat) on the guest, the command never terminates as the stream VMware is providing is infinitely long. If you look at what it's reading (via cat), VMware is repeatedly inserting copies of the original file into the virtual file, one right after the other, ad infinitem. Any thoughts? Environment: Host: SuSE 9.2 64-bit (x86_64) Guest: SuSE 9.2 32-bit VMware: 4.5.2 Thanks. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
