ATI fglrx driver update +what about DVI
Hi, ATI posted an update for their drivers yesterday. It now also includes xorg and x86_64! SuSE has made some special rpms and a How-To for this. But for x86_64 they have hidden below i386... go figure... On my 9200 SE I can only get VGA to work. If anyone knows how I can get DVI to work, please give me a pointer. ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/X/ATI/suse92/x86_64/fglrx/8.8.25 Or see your local mirror Regards! I forgot to mention, the command to start sax. It should read .../lib64/... in the parameter. BB, Arjen
What I would love to know is, and especially since I had it working on 9.1 -- is there any way to get two screens, since my 9600 supported it before? I can't seem to get a laptop and monitor working anymore. Funny how with XF86 it worked, but not with xorg and with XF86 I ran native (no FGLRX) but had dual frame buffers with dual heads. Now, no matter what I try, it yells at me and saays no. hints? Kat

the setup tool from ATI itself is able to do so. Instead of using sax you can try fglrxconfig. It will create a configuration in /etx/X11/XF86Config-4 Move this in place of XF86Config and see (p.s. keep a backup of the replaced config handy) HTH
