RE: [suse-amd64] adding a module for new hardware- 2.6.5-7.145-s mp kernel
Thank you for the reply. The driver was downloaded from the 3ware site. It worked perfectly on the 2.6.5-7.111-smp kernel and the original default kernel that installed under 9.1 x86_64. How do I compile it to match this newer kernel? Thanks again. James -----Original Message----- From: Andi Kleen [mailto:ak@suse.de] Sent: Monday, February 21, 2005 4:24 PM To: James D. Any ideas on how to remedy this?
You need to recompile the driver to match your kernel. -Andi -- Check the List-Unsubscribe header to unsubscribe For additional commands, email: suse-amd64-help@suse.com
Hi James: There are some nice and detailed instructions that you can search for on the 3ware site. They walk you through it. Just get into the documentation/support section and search for SuSE 2.6 compile or similar. That said, I thought that the SuSE kernel came with the 3w-9xxx and 3w-xxxx drivers pre-built. They are not up to date (usually), but they have been working for me (after 9.0 anyway). Joe James D. Parra wrote:
