xlib or XDM troubles
With SuSE 9.1 on an AMD64-3200 I've been trying to get some programs to run/install as su and I consistantly am encountering the following. Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Invalid XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 key (failed key comparison) Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0 yes I have been doing the xhost localhost command as a standard user. It's gotta be something simple but this a a problem I never encountered when I was using the 32 bit builds. -- Dr. Roy F. Cabaniss Associate Professor of Marketing University of Arkansas Monticello

Use "sux" instead of "su"
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Invalid XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 key (failed key comparison)
Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0

9.1/i386 will show it too. The reason is that the X server doesn't listen anymore on the network by default. -Andi
