Problem with power switch on 9.3
Hi Folks, On a Tyan 2875 with dual 246 Opterons I had 9.2 working so that a tap of the power button would issue a "halt" command and actually turn off the power. Alas, with 9.3 I get the "halt" behavior but the power isn't turned off. I rebooted with 9.2 and it works, back to 9.3 and it doesn't. I've configured everything I can find, but maybe I missed something? Other than this, so far 9.3 is a keeper in my book. Regards, Lew Wolfgang

Try YaST --> System --> Power Management, there are various settings there to try. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... Hamradio License G3VBV, Keen licensed Private Pilot Retired IBM Mainframes and Sun Servers Tech Support Specialist Microsoft Windows Free Zone - Linux for all Computing Tasks

Hi Sid, I tried YaST's Power-Management screen, but no joy. It's configured to "Power Off" instead of "Reboot", but just hangs after the shutdown sequence. It even disables the front-panel power switch (holding it in for more than six-seconds doesn't turn the power off). I have to reach behind and turn the actual power supply switch off. Since 9.2 works, this is definitely a problem with 9.3. Sure, a minor problem, but an annoyance nevertheless. Thanks, Lew
