Hi, we have a Suse Linux 9.1 pro server running here. Installed kernel version is 2.6.5-7.257-smp (x86_64). We allow users to mount Windows shares by use of smbmount an smbumount. They are part of the package samba-client-3.0.9-2.6, which is the the version after the online update. The original version of 9.1 doesn't work too, the same for the older kernel (I made an online update today from ftp.suse.com). The problem is that mounted Windows-Shares by use of smbmount can't be unmounted by use of 'smbumount'. The problem exist for both users and root. They can be unmounted by 'umount'! When typing 'mount' the mounted directory is listed correct with type smbfs. But smbumount complains that the directory is "probably not smb-filesystem". See below server3:~ # mount | grep smbfs //windowsserver/rohdaten on /tmp/smbtest type smbfs (0) server3:~ # smbumount /tmp/smbtest/ /tmp/smbtest probably not smb-filesystem Anyone who knows the problem? anything is fine for the 9.2 systems, where the samba-client is version 3.0.9-2.3 PS. Sorry, but only one mail for both lists. Hope its ok. :-) Answers in the german list may written in german.
