RE: [suse-amd64] dvdram permissions
What does "ls -l /dev/dvdram" look like? Do you need read/write permissions for group and other as well? -----Original Message----- From: TimSchofield.7552659@bloglines.com [mailto:TimSchofield.7552659@bloglines.com] Sent: Tuesday, May 03, 2005 12:31 PM To: suse-amd64@suse.com Subject: [suse-amd64] dvdram permissions Dear All How do i get to be able to write to a dvdram disc as a normal user? Originally i could do nothing with the disk - but i formatted it with this command: mkudffs --media-type=dvdram /dev/dvdram I have been fooling around with fstab and currently have this entry: /dev/dvdram /media/dvdram subfs fs=cdfss,rw,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,users,gid=users,umask=0002,iochars et=utf8 0 0 It was originally this: /dev/dvdram /media/dvdram subfs fs=cdfss,ro,procuid,nosuid,nodev,exec,iocharset=utf8 0 0 As of now i can write to it as root but not as a user. Using SuSE 9.2 x86_64. Any help appreciated Tim -- Check the List-Unsubscribe header to unsubscribe For additional commands, email: suse-amd64-help@suse.com
