Problem with Obex over Bluetooth
I have installed a 32bit and a 64bit (AMD) Version of SuSE 9.2 on different machines. On both I have a working bluetooth connection. But if I send calendar entries as .vcs file to the 32bit machine a dialog pops up on KDE and asks me where to save the .vcs file. On the 64bit machine I don't get this dialog, although the sending devices tells me the file has been transferred. My problem is, that I can't find the file on the 64bit system. Where has it gone? I'm not on my amd64 system now, but out of memory I think it is somewhere in /var I did, after receiving a vcard, an updatedb and after that finished a locate for the vcard file name. HTH, Matt

Thanks and yes, you are right, the file is in /var/lib/bluetooth/, although I think it doesn't really belong there. Well, this leaves the question, where is this handy application that popped up on my 32bit system? Detlef

yes, there should be a place in the user's home for it. However if that's not defined, it is not too bad. Where to define it?

I did run bluetooth only on the amd64, I did not even know it existed. Is it a kde app? Maybe from a specific kde version or package? Or there is a bug in the amd64 version, that this "handy application" does not get started there? regards, Matt

I have found the problem. There were two obex servers waiting for the files. I had opd running with the option --path /var/lib/bluetooth, so the files were put there. I have deactivated this service in the bluetooth menu of Yast and kbluetooth takes over now. The opd service of kbluetooth was the application I had seen on my 32 bit system. Detlef
