Re: [suse-amd64] Failed 10.1 Upgrade: RPM Crashing During Install
Hi
Howdy,
I tried upgrading from 10.0 to 10.1, first through the network install, then through the ISOs. Both methods result in the same problem: the RPM installer in the background crashes time and time again.
i had more or less the same issue. i used the unsupported kde updates and every time the installer wanted to install a package, that was already installed he printed a dialog to "retry abort or ignore". the point is that the installer thinks you just used the YOU updates. but if you updated your system with some other stuff there will be some rpms on your system, which the installer doesn't expect there. if this is your problem you have two options. 1) click a thousand times abort during install for every package that already exists. or 2) (that did the trick on my system) abort the install. put cd1 back in and start again the update to 10.1. then go to your software managment and update all packages. (right click ->update all in list) than continue with your installation. everything works fine for me... if this is not your problem i have no idea by now. :/ best wishes and good luck dennis.
