amd64 pro and Eurocom/Clevo laptop
I have a clevo/d470k AMD64 laptop which I just installed with SUSE 9.1PRO. The network stopped connecting after a YOU update. It worked great when I installed and rebooted - but as soon as I did a YOU update the network stopped working. I use DHCP and even when I hardcode an address I cannot get networking working. Below is part of /var/log/messages which shows that DHCP doesn't connect. :observations: on my home network (where I control the DHCP server) I can see the dhcp request received from the laptop, and the response sent - but the laptop seems to not receive the response (this is on simple unmanaged 8 port swithc, no vlans or routing). As another datapoint: networking ,booting the same laptop in BSD, works fine so I do not susspect hardware. Help would be appreciated. from boot.msg ifup [DEBUG] Handling Index <>: IPADDR = 127.0.0.1 PREFIXLEN = 8 CHECK_DUPLICATE_IP = no ifup-route [DEBUG] lo lo -o rc onboot ifup-route [DEBUG] calling: ip route replace to 127/8 dev lo ---> OK ifup-services [DEBUG] lo lo -o rc onboot ifup-services [DEBUG] unknown option rc ifup-services [DEBUG] No services to handle lo returned 0 doneS05network [DEBUG] ... still waiting for hotplug devices: S05network [DEBUG] SUCCESS_IFACES= lo S05network [DEBUG] MANDATORY_DEVICES= eth-id-00:90:f5:32:22:0f S05network [DEBUG] Time to wait: 20 Waiting for mandatory devices: eth-id-00:90:f5:32:22:0f 20 S05network [DEBUG] ... still waiting for hotplug devices: S05network [DEBUG] SUCCESS_IFACES= lo S05network [DEBUG] MANDATORY_DEVICES= eth-id-00:90:f5:32:22:0f S05network [DEBUG] Time to wait: 19 -- Len Zaifman Systems Manager, Supercomputing Systems Centre for Computational Biology Hospital for Sick Children Toronto, Ont.
