no ACPI support for the 2nd CPU?
Hi List, i have a Thyan Thunder K8S Pro (S2882) board 2 AMD Opteron 246 attached and /proc/cpuinfo and top shows me 2 cpus but during the boot the following message appears: ACPI: CPU0 (power states: C1[C1]) ACPI: Processor [CPU1] (supports 8 throttling states) ACPI: CPU1 (power states: C1[C1]) ACPI-0733: *** Warning: Processor Device is not present ACPI-0521: *** Warning: Error getting cpuindex for acpiid 0x3 ACPI-0733: *** Warning: Processor Device is not present ACPI-0521: *** Warning: Error getting cpuindex for acpiid 0x4 I have the new SuSE10 (2.6.13-15-smp) on the box. And my question: Is it normal that the 2nd CPU does not support ACPI? Mario

0x3 and 0x4 would the third and fourth CPUs. Should be harmless - probably the BIOS doesn't change the ACPI tables fully between the dual core and single core case. Should probably remove the warnings because they happen on many boards. -Andi
