mono and java on SuSE 9.3
As I have learned from the list, the first people have received their SuSE 9.3 boxes. So finally I can ask the questions: Is there a 64 bit version of mono and which version is it? If there is one, does it include monodoc and monodevelop and are they working? Is there a 64 bit version of Java and which version is it? Detlef

You could have asked before - and I might have answered ;-)

Yes, 1.1.4

monodoc is a separate package. I don't think that we have monodevelop. I cannot comment right now on whether they are really working on x86-64.

We have java 1.4.2 (only 32-bit) as default but you can install the 1.5.0 version (both archs). Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

monodevelop is working on mono for x86_64 as it is written in C#. I can confirm that as I'm currently using it. But monodoc has been a problem as it needs a library with native binding to some gtk or gnome stuff. The appropriate dll throws an exception on loading and I couldn't get it to work, because it needs a 32 bit library where SuSE 9.2 had only a 64 bit library.
