Re: [suse-amd64] k3b and SuSE 9.1 AMD64 (kernel 2.6.8) : DVD ok, CD not ok
Hi Matt, Hi Andreas Yes, there is a reason for using of the k3b v0.11.12-4. I use a SuSE 9.1 with only the kernel 2.6.8-24.5 coming from the SuSE 9.2 (this is for the PCMCIA cards 16bits). There is no update of KDE (a 3.2) and when I installed the k3b-0.11.17, I could not get the use of it : the GUI crashed during loading of k3b. That's why I had to installed this 0.11.12-4, an update for SuSE 9.1. I suppose that the 0.11.17 requires the kde 3.3 libs. This evening, I have seen the same problem with a SuSE 9.1 for i586 with a kernel 2.6.8. So this problem is not due to x86_64 :-) ! I have not such a problem with SuSE 9.0 (KDE 3.1 and k3b 0.10.xx). That's curious : why DVD ok, not CD ? Perharps a problem with crdrecord and status for user-group-other ? Regards Pascal =============================== Hi Pascal, funny error, indeed! Sorry, no solution, but a question: Is there a special reason for you to use k3b v0.11.12-4 and not the current version k3b-0.11.17? Before trying to fix k3b v0.11.12 it might make sense to upgrade first, and see if the error is not fixed in the meantime. Then I would run k3b-setup (not in the SuSE version) to let it set the permissions correctly. You seem to be using 9.2 now, there is a k3b RPM on packman for suse92-x86_64 HTH, Matt

You should get the k3b-0.11.12.2.4 from our ftp side. That one has been tested with 9.1 and the update kernel and should work fine, Andreas
