Suse 9.2 Evolution: unable to open addressbook
Hello, my old evolution data was perfectly imported by evolution 2.0 on my new SuSe 9.2 box. Unfortunately, the addressbook cannot be displayed by evolution. The error message is something like: Cannot access addressbook, please check if path exists and if you have the rights to access it. If have both the rights and the path is also correct, i think. At least i can create a new addressbook, which can be found in the evolution folder then, but same error. According to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=134783 that this seems to be a known problem for evolution-data-server-1.0.1.x86_64 and is fixed in version 1.0.2 . Unfortunately i could not find a x86_64 .rpm for that. On the gnome/ximian server there are only i586 rpms for SuSe. Does anyone know a location where the x86_64 rpm can be downloaded or has another fix for the problem ? Manuel
Hi Manuel, I'm getting exactly the same problem and tried posting here and on the Novell Evolution list but not had any replies yet. I'm glad its not just me ;-) Though it has to be said, I'm just trying thunderbird 0.9 (32 bit) and I think I may stick with it: Its simple, It has filters, It has adaptive Spam filtering, It has an address book, It looks nice and doesnt bomb out or leave zombie processes under KDE on exit. Right click, Empty Trash It works!! On the down side, I've not found a way to import my old contacts in vcard format yet. Perhaps a bit of scripting :) I'm going to keep my eye out for a fix for Evolution, if you spot anything, let me know. Cheers Ed Manuel Hohenauer wrote:

A working set of RPMs can be found at: ftp://ftp.penguin.cz/pub/users/utx/evolution-data-server/ BB
