I apologize since this is off topic but I've seen a few references to 4-way opteron boards on this mailing list. I've also seen some indications that AMD has a 4-way board called 'Quartet'. Does anyone know how to purchase this board? I have looked around the net extensively and I've seen fully built systems. For instance, Penguin Computing has a 4P system for less than $9,000 (US). Not a bad price but still a little bit high since I really only need the motherboard. Mark

Quartet is a full "barebone" system, not just a board. I am not sure if you can even get the boards individually. Getting the cooling right in your own case would be probably quite challening. It is also unlikely to fit into any standard case. -Andi

AFAIK Quartet is the code name for the A8440 barebone system, you might want to search for that number... Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SuSE Linux AG, Deutschherrnstr. 15-19, 90429 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
