Because you replied to another message (probably to get the address) and only changed the subject. This isn't sufficient, because when replying, MUAs like kmail create two additional header entries, In-Reply-To and References, which other MUAs use to thread messages. So don't reply to a message if you want to write on a new and unrelated subject. Philipp
