Hi Andi, Where do you check to get that reiserfs info? Why does it read the bitmap? We also tried ext3, but the file system (2-4TB) is too large for ext3 and it won't build. I did mention about jfs in my first posting, the transfer rate between two jfs file systems is very poor. Reiserfs appears to be the only viable option, but it takes about 10 minutes to reboot. Hi Andi,
The slow start-up appears to be specific at the reiserfs, but I can check the other sides.
I checked and it seems to be an reiserfs specific problem with that big file systemsbecause it reads all its bitmaps at the beginning. If it's a real issue for you I would suggest you switch to another fs (xfs,jfs,ext3) -Andi
